The Great Debate started as a family project. My two daughters and I are big Hamilton fans, and we keep coming back to the strange, messy fight over the Constitution.
I am a political scientist by schooling, and in my early 20s I worked in politics, including on Capitol Hill. I have always been interested in how the arguments from the ratification debate show up in modern American politics. We built this site because we wanted to read the original debates together, not just the famous quotes, and then talk about which side made the better case.
It is still a work in progress. Every good conversation seems to give us another idea for it.
